There are many foods that naturally cleanse your mouth and teeth. For many of us working long days away from home  and who aren’t comfortable brushing their teeth in a public restroom, these foods are the ticket to that midday power boost your mouth needs.

Crunchy foods naturally clean teeth. I am not talking about potato chips, but healthy crisp treats like celery, apples, pears, or carrots. Not only does the abrasiveness from these foods remove the plaque that forms on the tooth’s surface throughout the day, but the chewing motion promotes saliva production that encourages a balanced pH in the mouth and fights against acid production that can damage your teeth.

Another added benefit of a mouth with a balanced pH? Fresh breath. Cheese is also great clean mouth helper. The fat content protects the teeth from acid while the calcium and phosphorus protects the enamel and aid in plaque prevention.

Another super food that’s great for teeth is strawberries. Foods-For-Healthy-Teeth

Strawberries aid in natural bleaching. Make sure to rinse your mouth out with water after snacking on these berries due to their high acidity.

For a great at home whitening boost brush your teeth with a paste made of strawberries and baking soda. None of these foods should replace brushing at least twice a day and flossing, and if you already have plaque buildup regular brushing won’t remove it.
